Not sure what you are actually using and how you are applying, but here are some tips.
Use brushes!!! Use them to apply and use them to blend! You don’t have to get the perfect look on the first application, sometimes you have to work with it and blend. It’s best to figure out how much you should have on your brush to get a light application. You could always add more. If you put too much, use a brush to try to blend. If that doesn’t work use some translucent powder, apply over the blush and see if that works, If neither work, wash your face and try again!!! One of the ways to get your make up to look it’s best is to take good care of your skin and have some moisturizer on. Don’t apply make up right away, let the moisturizer sink in. You could be doing your hair or ironing your clothes during this time, it doesn’t take long. Then begin applying makeup. Also, blush works best against a foundation. If you don’t use one, that’s ok, the moisturizer will do. To apply, pucker your lips and follow the apple of your cheek up through your temple. You can even use a little on your eyelids to brighten up. Now, let’s talk about color. Wear a color that looks more natural, don’t go for too much contrast or it will look like you have too much on no matter what. So, you have to look at pictures to see what colors are being worn on people with your skin tone and you may have to try several to find one or two that work for you. You want to go for the healthy glow. Above all, use a brush to blend and finish, no matter if its powder or cream.
Next, your eyeliner. Not sure what you are using and how you are applying. It is difficult to get right and takes practice. I suggest you use a medium tone liner, or something the same color as your lashes. Pencils are good because you can get a narrow line and keep adding on. You can use a brush to blend so that any spots that the pencil didn’t get you can blend into. You could also use the same color eye shadow and go over the liner for a softer look and to fill in.
Make up takes some practice, but once you know how to work with your products, what amount to use, how much pressure to use, how to angle your hand for application and how to blend with the brush, you will always get it right! Practice makes perfect. Also, invest in a lighted make up mirror, it’s worth it! Nothing worse than putting make up on in a bathroom and then going into natural daylight and getting scared!
Praciticing and trying different products and application techniques can be fun, so enjoy. Remember, the skin care is most important. Healthy skin looks and feels good and provide a finer texture for your make up to adhere to.
